Business Credit Cards With Rewards Programs

If you’ve been considering getting a business credit card based on the rewards that it offers, you will find that the major business credit card issuers provide the most comprehensive rewards programs available to business credit card holders.

Visa Business Credit Cards

Rewards Visa business credit cards allow cardholders to earn certain points on a number of business expenses. In order to encourage business credit card holders to charge purchases of everyday office items to their business credit cards, every dollar spent on business services and office supplies purchased from standalone stationery stores will earn three points; for other purchase, the incentive is one point for every dollar spent. You have to redeem the points that you accumulate in three years since they will expire after that period. Depending on the type of Visa business credit card, new business credit card holders will either receive either 10,000 or 15,000 reward points after his or her first purchase.

Standalone merchants are office supply merchants whose main business is selling office supplies and stationeries to other businesses or commercial accounts. Professional services may also be considered standalone, on condition that such providers of accounting and legal services are serving mainly business clients. Purchases will not be eligible for the three points per dollar rewards if made at discount stores and other outlets that already offer discounted prices on these items.

Visa’s CitiBusiness Premierpass Card also allows business credit card holders earn points on the miles that they fly, in addition to earning points for the dollars they spend. The points you earn through miles do not expire as long as you use the business credit card at least once every three years.

American Express Business Credit Cards

American Express allows business credit card users to get one a point for every dollar purchase paid with the business credit card. Their business credit cards offer unlimited points without an expiry date. The points you accumulate, can be redeemed against a variety of products and services from the American Express Membership Rewards club. To welcome you into the business credit card community at American Express, once your business credit card application is approved and you make your first purchase, you immediately earn 5,000 bonus points.

Such purchases must be submitted by the merchant using a designated industry code or identifier for their business category. Points earned from “Eligible Travel Purchases” are redeemable in increments of 7,500 points; every 7,500 points is equivalent to a $100 credit.
